Help Out

Apple Fest is quickly approaching! Hurray! (and also Eek! as there's still so much to do.)

Needs and Desires that are Hot on our Minds:

We would love to have a ceremonial apple tree planting during this event. Planting a tree is a crucial step in understanding and appreciating the cycle which makes the apple harvest possible. We are currently looking for someone nearby who wants to plant an apple tree in their yard and would like the help of our volunteers to do it! We can try to work the "neighborhood community event" angle to get a donation or discount on the tree, but at this late date it is likely that you would be responsible for the cost. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in this community event and deeply connect with the harvest season. Please contact us if you might be interested and we can talk about it more.

We are crossing our fingers that the day of the event will be clear and sunny, but knowing Portland we need to calculate in the possibility of rain. And hey, it never rains on the day you bring your umbrella, right? So we want to get super prepared for rain, in high hopes that we won't need it! Do any neighbors have or have access to event tents (or something that can function in that capacity) that we can have "on-call" in case they are needed the day of? Please contact us right away if you have any leads on this. Thank you!
